It's that time again when the kids are on holidays and they are allowed to stay up a little bit later than normal. This is the perfect time when we go out and see all the houses decorated with beautiful Christmas lights. The little man even came this year.
They get bigger and better every year. Bubbles, dancing penguins, sparkle sparkle sparkle!
This is my favourite -
Every year we buy some new lights to add to the house, but I don't think we'll ever go that far!

Billy Bonkers!
"We are the one's who make the chocolates sweet,
Who shake it and stir it till it's ready to eat!"
This year the girls did drama classes and presented us with this performance "Billy Bonkers and the Shake and Stir Factory". There was Billy Bonkers of course, Wiz Fizz, the big one was Poppy Fairy, and the little one was an Iggy Pop. We were very proud of our girls, they showed no signs of nerves and really enjoyed giving us a great show.

Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree
This week I finally got the stockings up and the beautiful personalised ornaments I bought off Etsy. Nanna has been and gone bringing all her Christmas goodies, the kids had a great time with her. Only 4 school days left until the Christmas holiday break. I can't wait!
Every year the kids get christmas cards and candy canes from their friends at school. This year I wanted to do something a little different. We've been making these little christmas tree ornaments that was inspired by the ones sold at "thecupcakery" on Etsy
They are sweet little things but we're halfway there (oooh Bon Jovi!) still more to make.

Sugar and Spice and all things nice....
This order reminded me of that sweet poem. It's my largest order of personalised pillowcases. Someone's been Christmas shopping! I think they are all just adorable.
If you're looking for a sweet girl baby name there are some good ones here. Some oldies but goodies I think!
I love the pinks on the white pillowcase. I wish my girls were still into pink.....

It's beginning to look like Christmas 2008
The first day of December is always my favorite. We usually put up the tree and the kids decorate and think about past Christmas gifts, ornaments and holidays! This year we'll put the tree up a little later because we have a little destructo boy at the moment. We will hang the personalised stockings up and put the Christmas Quilts on their beds now.
I am very excited to say that these Personalised Ornaments arrived today. I purchased them from this Etsy Store. They are beautiful. The kids love them. We'll hang them with their stockings until the Christmas tree goes up. They are something special to add to their personal collection of Christmas treasures.

Birthdays and Presents
It seems all my daughter's friends birthday's happen at the same time.
They all reached that milestone of double digits, very exciting. I can't believe it was 10 years ago when I had her, another 10 and she'll be 20. That makes me........older LOL.
She put in her gift orders so that all her friends can enjoy a personalised gift from her. She made the birthday cards!
Here are some. Personalised Pillowcases of course. Gel pen rolls in their favourite colours filled with carefully selected Gel Pens. All the fabric colours were picked by
my little colour consultant too.
For my girl, I had to make a new quilt in the colour that she loves GREEN. We made it together, she chose the fabrics, I did the sewing. I even managed to finish it in time for her birthday.

Day of the Storm
It all started as a sunny, very humid, hot Sunday. The day changed as the sky darkened, time to get the washing in, we're in for a storm.
I never expected it to be this severe. There was hail, strong winds, very heavy rain. We had rain in the house, lost tiles on the roof, hail smashing windows, we lost electricity and it was dark. When it finally calmed we went outside.
There was water running through the backyard. Trees had come down. Large trees on the other side of our back fence came out of the ground from the roots. These were the trees that a lot of wild lorikeets, and cockatoos and galahs came and sat in. This is one of the birds, we call him BonTon. I have seen them over the fence in the smaller trees.
We were lucky, other people got it worse than us. The streets are covered with large eucalypt trees that came down. Roofs are covered with tarps waiting for repairs (ours included). Chainsaws are buzzing non stop as the cleanup continues. Street sweepers are sweeping the streets of debris.
We finally got the electricity back on about 30hours later, that's a long time with kids. We cooked outside. It was a bit like camping but we could still sleep in our own beds.

The Awesome Cubby!
Do you remember building your own cubby with sheets pegged to chairs?
The kids got together one day and drew some plans of their ideal cubby house. There were some great ideas. A few days of "Dad will you build this for us, Please?" He did. It's big, Great job Dad!
Can you see the little person on the side?
The kids even added their own personal touches. One of a kind Artwork handmade by them!

Hard to find good help
I made this beautiful personalised cushion to add to my store. I've noticed lot of stores on Etsy have beautiful photos of children sampling their creations for sale. I've been trying this out here with my little one without much success. He is still cute though!
I like these so much I made another special gift for Ruby. I don't know which picture I'll use!

Stocking Stuffers!
Time to start thinking about Christmas before it's too late. These are my new favourite thing for children. A Texta Marker Roll. Keeps things tidy and easy for the kids to pack up. Just pop in their favourite colours and of they go! No more tipping them out all over the table. Now I've got a few to make for family Christmas gifts, should I personalise them......

My first ever blog entry!
I've been making quilts for 10 years since I had my first baby with all the little pieces and perfect points.
I made them for everyone!
After having a couple more kids time became scarce for big quilts. The kids love things that you can make fast and has a fabric that they love. If you put their name on it somehow it really says you made something special and unique just for them.
All the gifts we gave became handmade.
I have sold a lot in Australia. Now I'm putting myself out there to mingle with other lovers of ETSY handmades!
Below is just a couple of samples of the personalised gifts that I make.
